Mt. Tamalpais State Park - Beach to Summit

Some nicely crafted, narrow, and steep stairs made of rock, on Steep Ravine trail.

Small waterfall along Steep Ravine trail.

Tunnel carved through a fallen redwood on Steep Ravine trail.

A 10 foot ladder that you have to climb going up Steep Ravine trail. (How cool is that? When have you ever seen a ladder on a hiking trail?)

Switchbacking up the final section of Steep Ravine trail.

My snack spot in the picnic area of the Pantoll Ranger station/campground. At this point, I had climbed about 1500 vertical feet, and completed about 3 miles, with something like 1100 vertical feet left to the East Peak, and unknown miles back to my car. (Side note: I camped where the car is parked in the left hand side of the picture when I was at Mt. Tam in March.)
