Deciding it would probably get better as we headed more toward Round Lake and out of the main valley, we threw on our packs and hastened on our way up Meiss Meadow Trail. It was about 2.3 miles from the junction to Round Lake. Unfortunately, the mosquito situation not only didn't improve, it actually got a hundred times worse. About halfway to the lake, we stopped and threw on our long pants (well, just zipped the pant legs on to my convertible shorts), our jackets, and our mosquito netting. Of course, we got bit a hundred times doing it. We hastened on to the lake.
As we arrived at the lake, it was beginning to rain a little. We rejoiced in the fact that rain usually drove down the mosquitoes. Did you notice I said "usually"? They just wouldn't leave... We grabbed the first campsite we could find and set up the tent, and crawled inside, safe from the mosquitoes and rain.
After sitting in the tent for a while, the rain stopped, and we decided to brave the outdoors (and mosquitoes) and check out the lake, which had looked really cool in the pictures I'd seen in the guidebook. It didn't disappoint. Without even leaving our campsite, we had nice views to the SouthWest...

...and to the NorthWest.

Justin checked out the view from the safety of his netting:

And then we decided to wander further around the lake and check it out...
