Page 5 - Sun and Scenery

Leaving our campsite, the trail turned from the trees and entered some desert-looking terrain. The sun was bright and it was a beautiful day, the pain from my blisters not withstanding.

The bizarre volcanic landscape continued to show up all around us.

Following a nice long drop in the trail, we found ourselves in cool, clean Pennsylvania Creek and decided it would be a good time for a snack before beginning the long climb toward our lunch spot, the second crossing of Raymond Lake Creek.

We spent some time relaxing in the shade, then headed uphill...
