

I then hiked the short distance back to the West Peak (which is actually the first peak you pass on the way up the mountain), and started heading up. Aside from some old rusted out car frames, the peak provides some interesting scenery and features.



I was running short on time, so on the way back, when I was about 1.8 miles from the trailhead, I saw a trail splitting off to the right (West) steeply down the hill (marked "No Bikes"). I headed down this trail, which dropped quickly. I soon came out on the singletrack along the ridge, just North of the unmarked split I'd gone the wrong way on before. From there, it was a quick hike back to the car.
