Day Three: Showers Lake, and the First Views of Tahoe

As I said, something went horribly wrong on that descent, but I didn't notice it for a while, so I'll explain later...

Anyway, we reached the campsite in short order, and it was really cool. There was a nice big flat area for the tent, a small running stream for water, and great views of Lake Tahoe.

We clamored up onto some of the large rocks...

...on the East side of the camp. You could actually get pretty high up...

...pretty easily, and from there you had a great view of Tahoe. Justin sat there for a long time, working on his whittling and taking in the view.

I also took in the view, and wandered around a bit. For some reason I thought these plants growing out of a boulder was really cool:

As we went to hide our packs from the bears (albeit not very well), I noticed that my left knee was a bit stiff and sore. I thought nothing of it, and we hit the sheets (well, sleeping bags)...
