Page 9 - Salvation at Last!

As we watched wide-eyed, hoping the car we heard coming over the hill would stop, I suddenly felt a sense of relief as I saw a beat-up grey station wagon crest the hill...it was the same kid we'd bummed a ride off the day before! Seeing our defeated look and our thumbs out, he stopped and picked us up.

10 gloriously quick miles later, we arrived at Sorenson's Resort, home of a phone.

Thanking the kid profusely for the ride, we located the single phone, called for a ride, and hit the restaraunt for some real food. An omellette never tasted so good...

After hanging out at a picnic table in the shade, being swarmed by flies due to our wonderful body odor, for about 3 hours, we saw my parent's black Blazer drive up...we were outta here!

But first, I had to make it to the car... I met my dad and tried to explain how tired I was, but I don't think I was too coherent.

As we headed back to the car, I shuffled more than walked.

We drove back to the campsite, tore down our tent as quick as possible so we didn't get eaten by the never ending mosquitoes, then relaxed as we enjoyed the long ride home.

So what did we learn?
