The trail then continued through a number of other impressive "Big Trees" before emerging on the acccess road for the campground. A short trek along it brought us to yet another example of man's stupidity, the Big Stump. The stump is the remains of a tree of enormous diameter, which was cut down because people thought it'd be neat or something. Apparently at one point they even built a house on the stump. Now it's just a stump that you can climb around on.

We headed back to the campsite, and laid down in the tent for a while to just chill out and take a nap. When we woke, it was time for dinner, so we fired up the grill and stove. I threw some chicken on the BBQ, while Norvina cooked up some Lipton Rice on the stove.

After a delicious dinner and cleaning the dishes, we wandered around the campground a bit. The meadow was pretty neat looking.

After we finished wandering, we started our campfire. Or at least tried... the firewood we bought at the visitor center was a bit wet and we did not have any kindling. After the fire went out about 8 times, and I'd all but exhausted the supply of dry pine needles on the ground, we finally got the fire buring reasonably well. We enjoyed it's warmth, but scolded ourselves for forgetting the hot chocolate and marshmallows. Eventually, we headed to bed.
We awoke in the morning to sunny skies. After preparing a grubbin' breakfast of eggs and sausage, we packed up and headed home. Unfortunately, we weren't able to stop and check out any of the nearby caverns, but we vowed to do it next time. It was a fun trip!
